Our office works to enhance the mission of Siena College and acts as a liaison for students with disabilities within the college community.  The office ensures compliance with responsibilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and current amendments.

Accommodations are granted to students who have registered and provided current and relevant documentation of their disability and accommodation needs to the office.  All information disclosed is considered confidential and will not be released without the student’s permission.  I look forward to working with each of you to help make your time at Siena a success!

Please read our Office of Accessibility Policy Handbook.

Registering with the Office of accessibility

Please review the How to Register Guide and below instructions for details on how to complete the registration for accommodations.

1.  Complete the following Registration Form and Authorization for Release of Information Form in full and return them to the Office of Accessibility.
You  have the option of online or paper forms

Online Forms - Enter Credentials: Siena Username (without @siena.edu) and Siena Password

2.  Provide recent documentation of your disability which details your functional limitations and accommodation needs. Documentation should be sent to The Office of Accessibility; this can sent directly to the Director of Accessibility, Lindsay Green.

This must be generated by the student's high school, certified psychologist, licensed or otherwise properly credentialed professional.

  • It should provide information which establishes a disability
  • describes the functional limitations of the disability
  • how it inhibits a major life function
  • suggests reasonable accommodations

3.  Complete an intake meeting with the Director of Accessibility.  Please coordinate your availability with the Director for this short meeting to occur.

4. Upon request of the above mentioned documents, the Director will determine the accommodations to be granted and contact the student directly.

Siena College makes every effort to follow AHEAD's most recent guidelines regarding disability documentation. Documentation for accommodations must be provided from an off campus provider. Siena's Health Services and Counseling Center may provide guidance for how to pursue obtaining documentation but will not be providing documentation for accommodations through the Office of Accessibility.

PRIVACY STATEMENT
